Rotchina arrived into the hearts and home of Duane and Rachel Schroeder of Roanoke on August 15, 2000.  Dr. Bash did Rotchina's surgery, which was a balloon procedure to open a valve.  Her surgery was successful and her recovery quick.  She returned to Haiti on October 19, 2000 to a mother who was waiting for her at the airport.  Other from the U.S. who were in Haiti in January of 2001, saw Rotchina and reported that she is doing well.
