ENNE

Seventeen year old, Enne Egalite arrived at the home of Dennis and Karen Leman on February 15, 2001.  Enna had Marfans Syndrome and very poor eyesight.  In March she had her first ocular lens impant and in April her mitral valve was repaired.  At the end of April her second ocular lens implant was done.  Though the Lemans could not communicate well with Enne, they lover her through her smiles and her music.  On May 17, 2001, she returned to Haiti with a repaired heart and near normal vision with the help of eyeglasses.  A treadle sewing machine was shipped to Enned.  Because Enne lives in a mountainous area, there has been no mail or phone calls from her.  In December, the Leman's did receive word that Enne is well and her sewing machine arrived safely.
